We spent 2 weeks in Oregon and Northern California exploring the Coast, the Redwoods, Mount Hood, and the High Desert.

We flew to Portland and drove to Seaside, OR. We ate dinner at Mo’s where Vic had the clam chowder bread bowl. We explored the beach and town after dinner.

We drove to Cannon Beach and met the Olsons. We walked along the beach and got sun-burnt. For lunch we ate at Pelican Brewing. We then started our drive South. Along the way we stopped at Tillamook Creamery, hiked the dunes at Cape Kiwanda, stopped in Newport to find sea lions, and then stayed the night in Waldport.

We continued our drive South. Along the way we stopped at Exploding Whale Memorial Park, walked the beach at the end of South Jetty, briefly stopped at Gold Beach, and made it to our Airbnb in Crescent City.

Cindy’s Birthday! We drove the slow and windy™ road to Jedediah State Park. There we hiked the Boy Scout Trail to Fern Waterfall. On the way back we found the Boy Scout tree. After supper we relaxed at the beach.

We drove to Jedediah State Park and hiked Grove of Titans and Stout Grove. In the late afternoon the Adults explored the tide pools. Then we all went to Pebble Beach.

After the Olsons fixed their leaky tire, we drove to Crater Lake National Park and waited 1.5 hours in line to get into the park. We drove half way around the lake and stopped at a couple places to view the lake. We then drove to Bend, OR, ate at Chipotle and Five Guys for supper, walked around the Downtown, and stayed the night at the Bend Inn.

For brunch we ate at McKay Cottage. Vic had the Biscuits and Gravy! Next we hiked along the Deschutes River in Sawyer Park. We then drove to Rhododendron, OR to our Airbnb. Cindy and Ann-Marie grocery shopped in Sandy, OR while the rest of us went to the pool.

It was a hiking day! We hiked at Trillium Lake and Mirror Lake. Mosquitos were kinda bad at Mirror Lake. After the hikes we checked out Timberline Lodge.

We had a relaxing day where we swam in the Sandy River at Glen Otto Community Park and then ate at Timberline Lodge in the Cascade Dining Room to celebrate Cindy’s Birthday.

We spent the day along the Columbia River. We visited Multnomah Falls, toured Bonneville Dam, had a picnic and got ice cream in Cascade Locks. We spent the afternoon in Hood River where we watched people kiteboard and the kids swam.

We said goodbye to the Olsons and they went to Portland. The Heidmans went to The Dalles after exploring Hood River. Highlight of day was KFC chicken sandwiches. The Dalles was a bust.

We drove to Redmond, OR. Along the way we stopped for a hike to Steelhead Falls. We then settled into our Airbnb at Eagle Crest Resort and after dinner we went to the pool and hot tub.

We hiked the Tumalo Falls trail, shopped in Sisters OR, and went for an evening walk in Eagle Crest Resort.

We e-biked along the Deschutes River in Bend and had a picnic in Riverbend Park. After that we drove to the top of Pilot Butte.

Drove to PDX and flew home.
